Baby's Breath Prenatal Yoga

Connect with your Breath, your Baby and your Community

As a Yoga Teacher and Labour & Delivery Nurse, teaching Prenatal Yoga brings together my passions and knowledge of the birthing experience and Yoga practice.  Classes are offered in a private home studio: a peaceful, supportive environment where expectant mothers can practice Yoga to ease some of the discomforts of pregnancy, gain strength for the journey ahead and, most importantly, learn to use the breath to gain focus and relaxation.  This is also an opportunity to connect with other women and explore questions about labour, birth and motherhood.  Classes are small, light hearted and informative - Yoga experience is not necessary.

Group Prenatal Yoga classes are typically held weekly on:

  • Mondays 6:30 - 7:45pm
  • Wednesdays: 6:30 - 7:45pm
  • Fridays: 12:30 - 1:45pm

Private sessions are available on request

BBPY Reunion: moms and babies get together hosted on the last Friday of each month at 10am

Prenatal Yoga for Couples:

Private sessions are offered in our home studio for expectant couples to learn and practice breathing and movement specifically for labour and birth.  This is a great opportunity to connect with your partner to help prepare for the journey that lies ahead. These sessions are full of helpful tips and information to help prepare you for your big day.  Sessions are booked by appointment - please contact to schedule.

Gentle Flow

Looking for “non-prenatal” Yoga?  In this class, we flow from one pose to another as we connect with our breath, mind and body. The goal is to develop focus, strength and relaxation.  Modifications are offered so this class is suitable for both the beginner and more experienced Yogi (and always includes a great music playlist!)

These classes are currently run as a private booking only, either for individual or a group (ladies night out, team building, etc.).

Mamaste Postnatal Yoga

This class gives you the opportunity for a "mom's time out" after the birth of your baby! This Mamaste ("Mama-stay") Yoga class will invite both gentle movement and stillness and provide you with a bit of "me-time" amidst all the demands of motherhood. There will also be a focus on community as you (re)connect with other new moms in a supportive environment with the opportunity to share and gain insight on anything "baby and motherhood" related. Whether your baby was born more recently or longer ago, this class will suit your needs and you will leave feeling restored and refreshed!

"Mamaste" Postnatal Yoga group classes are held most Saturdays from 10:30-11:45am

Lactation Support

As a board certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I have helped support mothers in their breastfeeding journey for over 30 years. Breastfeeding is a natural process but can also present unique challenges for new mothers. Support and guidance during the first few days and weeks after birth provides the greatest benefit and chance of success - this is my specialty! Whether it’s a difficulty with latching, concerns over milk supply, or simply the need for an experienced assessment and encouragement, I can help you and your baby get off to a great start.

Breastfeeding Information Session

Group prenatal breastfeeding information sessions are held throughout the year to help you prepare and understand what lies ahead. Join in to feel more prepared for your upcoming breastfeeding journey! You will learn tips for latching your baby, how to tell if your baby is getting enough and learn all about antenatal hand expression. These sessions are interactive and allow for the opportunity to ask questions to a certified lactation consultant.

Birth Prep

Bringing another human being into this world is a BIG deal!  How your birth story unfolds is not always within your control.  Having had the opportunity to support thousands of mothers through labour and birth, I will work with you and your partner to help you feel more calm, confident and prepared for your birth experience.

Private Session:

Each session typically runs around 2 to 2.5 hours in the comfort of your home. During this time, we will discuss what you might expect in those last weeks of pregnancy, the day of the birth as well and what to expect in those first days with your newborn.  Your session will be tailored to your needs and can include:

  • Information on the different stages of labour
  • Breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Pain management options
  • What to expect in your birth setting
  • Possible interventions during labour and birth
  • Caesarean births
  • Breastfeeding
  • Newborn care
